A few weeks ago, we announced the addition of an email feature to our platform to help Social Seeder users centralise all the communications of their ambassador or advocacy programme in a single platform.

Today, we’d like to share some email ideas that will help you spice-up the relationship with your ambassadors.

But, first things first. Email is a tool that is sometimes overused and it is not rare to end up with the inbox full of content that it’s not relevant to us. Your ambassadors are precious and the last thing you want to do is to burn them up. That’s why, before sending an email  to your ambassadors, we recommend you to make sure the answer to all the question below is “yes”:

  • Is it about your ambassadors and not about you?
  • Is it relevant to them?
  • Does it add them any value?
  • Are you sending it to the right segment of ambassadors?
  • Is it the right time to send it?

If the answer to all those questions is “yes”, it means you are about to launch a very successful email campaign. Now, here are a few ideas you can use:

1. Ask for feedback

Feedback is the breakfast of champions and if you want to make your advocacy programme succeed you have no choice but to ask ambassadors for their opinion.

You can organise interviews, focus groups or an open debate but a very easy way to do it is to send a short survey via email and ask them for their help.

There are plenty of tools that you can use to create surveys easily and for free. For example, SurveyMonkey, TypeForm or Google Forms. Then you just need to add the link to the survey on your email and you’ll be ready to collect some juicy feedback.

 

 

2. Welcome new ambassadors

Sending emails to welcome new ambassadors has a double effect. First of all, it helps newcomers feel welcome and appreciated. Second, it helps current ambassadors meet their new peers and communicates how the community is growing.

 

 

3. Invite ambassadors for a drink or event

Email is a great tool of communication to stay in touch with ambassadors but, believe us, if not balanced with some human contact, it will be hard to win their hearts.

That’s why we strongly recommend that, at least once in a while, you invite your ambassadors for a community drink or some type of event. It will help you bond with them and give them a chance to bond with each other, creating a stronger relationship and a more powerful community.

 

4. Show appreciation

Silent gratitude isn’t much to anyone and, showing it, is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other.
