Social Seeder keeps on growing and we are very excited to introduce you to our new colleague, Dennis! He will be working as our new front-end developer. He’s originally from Holland but now lives in Barcelona. Here is a short interview we had with Dennis to learn a bit more about our new team member.
1. Why did you decide to join the team of Social Seeder?
Social Seeder is a great, fun team of people with different backgrounds and cultures. The people I work with on a daily basis are the most important for me. As a platform it has proven to be very successful and it’s here to stay. That’s why I’m very happy to join them on their mission to re-imagining the way we interact, share stories, and create lasting relationships.
2. What would you like to accomplish while you’re working at Social Seeder?
As a developer I would like to contribute to the growth and optimisation of the platform. It would also be great to build some useful new features which empowers our customers even more to get the best out of their social media presence. Personally I want to grow as a developer, learn a lot of new stuff and have some fun along the way.
3. How does an ideal day at work look like?
Since I primarily will be working remotely from my home in Barcelona, my ideal day would start with opening the curtains and be greeted by the always shining Mediterranean sun and a beautiful blue sky. After a quick stand-up with the team I continue my morning with one of my assigned task for this week. When it’s lunch time I like to go outside, grab a meal, do some grocery shopping or even head to the gym for some physical exercise. After that I’ll get back to work and stay in touch with my colleagues during the rest of the day. If at the end of the day I made a good step forward regarding my tasks or if I could help out colleagues or customers with some issues they were having, it’s been a successful day.
4. How would you describe Social Seeder in 3 words?
Proud. Driven. Humanly.
5. What hobbies do you have? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like doing sports. I enjoy going to the gym regularly or take my classic road bicycle for a short trip. For relaxing I go to the beach or have a drink with some friends at a sunny terrace.
6. Any favourite thing about Belgium so far?
I’m Dutch, so Belgium always has been a neighbouring country for me. I think in Belgium the quality of the food and beer is way better. It’s prepared with more time, love and caring.
7. Describe an odd habit of yours
When I’m eating slices of bread, I like to eat an even number of slices. So if I feel like eating a third, there will almost always be a fourth too. I don’t have this habit with other food, as for as I know!
8. #Random If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
Controlling the weather. It can solve big world problems but also small daily annoyances.
